The ISS360 Imaging Sonar provides excellent image clarity with a range capability in excess of 90 meters / 295 fett. As a very compact imaging sonar the ISS360 is an ideal navigation sensor for the smallest to the largest underwater vehicles. The titanium variant of the ISS360 is depth rated to 4000 meters / 13 123 feet. The acetal variant to 1500 meters / 4 921 feet.
Optionnaly, the ISS360 can be provided with an integrated Attitude and Heading Reference System (AHRS). This provide highly stable heading, pith and roll readings.
The ISS360 imaging sonar uses a broadband composite transducer coupled with CHIRP acoustics to provide excellent image clarity and range capability.
The sonar provides a full 360° field of vision produced by a mechanically scanned transducer. The transducer uses inductive coupling to the sonar electronics which enables operation without the need to periodically return for slip ring replacement.
All sonar settings are fully software configurable using seaView software. The seaView sonar application is highly intuitive to use for the operator, ensuring range resolution and other settings can quickly and easily be adjusted.
Alternatively a software development kit is available for third party integration and interface development.
The use of CHIRP (Compressed High Intensity Radar Pulse) acoustics enables the ISS360 Sonar to produce imagery with exceptional clarity.
The ISS360 sonar can be operated at any frequency froù 650 to 750kHz. The CHIRP frequency can be adjusted as required or a monotonic signalling scheme can be chosen.
The use of CHIRP acoustic signalling enables a significant increase in range resolution while maintaining an excellent range cabaility. In the below example, the ISS360 Sonar image on the left is created using a single frequency pulse (Monotonic Acoustics). The ISS360 Sonar Image on the right uses the same settings, nbut instead of a single frequency pulse, a 100kHz bandwidth CHIRP pulse is used.
Attitude & Heading Reference System (AHRS)
Optionally available within the ISS360 is an integrated Attitude & Heading Reference System (AHRS) providing Heading, Pitch & Roll.
The AHRS is based on Micro-Electrical-Mechanical-System (MEMS) based technology.
Within the ISS360 there are three MEMS based Gyros, Accelerometers & Magnetometers. The outputs from each of these MEMS devices are fused together, providing highly stable Heading, Pitch & Roll.
The Heading is highly resilient against temporary magnetic interference. This is aided by a soft and hard iron calibration feature once the unit has been installed on the ROV, AUV or other underwater application.
